Mission
Statement
St. Francis Seraph Outreach Ministries is dedicated to partnering
with and advocating for low-income persons in a holistic manner.
Services are designed to provide positive experiences that promote
the development of skills needed to enhance the lives of the people
we serve and their families while addressing immediate needs.

Living
the Compassionate Spirit of St. Francis
Housed
within our parish center is our family enrichment program known
as Sarah Center. It is a program dedicated to encouraging families
in Over-the-Rhine to develop their strengths and talents in order
to build a positive life for themselves, and their communities.
The Center provides space where participants can meet, rest, receive
referral assistance, and use the phone. Additional programs include:
Bible sharing, crafts, and bingo.
Because
of the location of our Outreach Center on the corner of Liberty
and Vine and our 3-day a week emergency assistance program, we have
become a referral place for persons seeking assistance in Over-the-Rhine.
While we are unable to meet the needs of all who stop, we do try
to provide a welcoming presence where people can share their problems.
Often we can assist them in making the connections that bring a
measure of hope into their lives. "Thanks for taking time to
listen." "Thanks for the leads. This is the only place
that gave me any." "I don’t know what I’d do
without you." Such comments tell us that we are living in the
compassionate spirit of St. Francis. Know that through your support
of our ministries you share in the good that we do. THANK YOU.
A
Special Focus
A
special focus of the Sarah Center is a supplemental income program
in which participants learn to make handcrafted jewelry. Not only
does jewelry-making teach a marketable skill, it also develops creativity
and builds a support network among the participants. Our jewelry
designers pride themselves on the quality of their items, which
incorporate glass beads and/or semi-precious stones in their designs.
Designers earn 60% of the sale price of their jewelry, while the
remaining 40% is used to cover the cost of supplies, rental of booth
spaces, etc.
