Mission
Statement:
Working
within the Catholic faith community of St. Francis Seraph Ministries,
with the parents of our children and among the people of Over-the-Rhine,
we, as a school, endeavor to educate the whole child today to be
productive citizens and followers of Christ for the 21st Century
regardless of the obstacles.

St.
Francis School is located in the heart of Cincinnati's historic over-the-Rhine
district. The school was built in 1861 and served the Catholic children
of German and Irish immigrants. St.
Francis Seraph School now serves inner city children in grades K-8,
providing a quality education to children of various faiths and
cultures.
With a population
of 156 students, 95% are African American and the remainder are
primarily white Appalachian, multi-racial, and Hispanic.. Ninety-eight
percent of these students are from families with an income below
the poverty level. Approximately 10% of our students are Catholic.
The students
are served by 15 full and part-time faculty and professional staff,
heavily supplemented by more than 60 volunteers for such functions
as operating the library, tutoring students, office support, and
maintenance assistance. These faithful people, through gifts of
time and financial support, play a vital role in the operation and
success of St. Francis Seraph.
